What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Contact form

When you submit the contact form, we collect the information you provide (typically name, email, phone (optional), and message) to respond to your inquiry, provide support, and keep basic records of our communications.
Legal bases (GDPR/UK GDPR): your consent and our legitimate interests in responding and running our business.
Israel: processing for legitimate business purposes under the Privacy Protection Law, 1981.

Server logs & basic security

Our servers may automatically record IP address, date/time, pages visited, referrer, and browser user-agent. We use these logs to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the Site (e.g., detecting abuse or errors).
Legal basis: legitimate interests and compliance with legal obligations.

Comments (if enabled)

If you leave a comment, we collect the data shown in the comment form, and also your IP address and browser user-agent to help spam detection.
An anonymized string (hash) from your email address may be provided to Gravatar to see if you are using it (see their policy at automattic.com/privacy). After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media uploads (if enabled)

If you upload images, avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors can download and extract location data from images on the website.

Embedded content from other websites (if used)

Articles on this Site may include embedded content (e.g., videos, images, articles). Embedded content from other websites behaves exactly as if you visited the other website. Those websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content.

Cookies

Strictly necessary cookies

We may use minimal cookies required for the Site to function (e.g., WordPress core/session, security, load-balancing). These do not require consent and store only what’s necessary.

Convenience and account cookies (only if relevant features are enabled)

  • Comments: If you leave a comment, you may opt in to saving your name, email, and website in cookies for convenience; these typically last 1 year.
  • Login / screen options: Visiting a login page may set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies (deleted when you close the browser). If you log in, we set cookies to save your login information (2 days) and screen options (1 year). Selecting “Remember Me” keeps you logged in for 2 weeks. Logging out removes the login cookies.
  • Editor cookie: If you edit or publish an article, a cookie (no personal data) may store the post ID you edited and expires after 1 day.

How we use your data

  • Responding to and managing your inquiries
  • Operating, securing, and improving the Site
  • Keeping records required by law and demonstrating compliance

We do not sell personal information.

Who we share your data with

We share personal data only as needed with service providers (e.g., hosting, email delivery) under contracts requiring them to protect your data and use it solely under our instructions, and with authorities where required by law or to protect rights and safety.
If password resets are enabled, your IP address may be included in reset emails.

International data transfers

Our service providers may process data in countries outside your own (including outside the EEA/UK/Israel). Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or equivalent mechanisms.

How long we retain your data

  • Contact form submissions: up to 24 months (or longer if needed to handle your request, maintain business records, or comply with law).
  • Server logs: typically up to 90 days, unless needed longer for security or legal reasons.
  • Comments (if enabled): comments and metadata may be retained indefinitely to recognize and approve follow-ups automatically.
  • Registered users (if enabled): we store the personal information provided in user profiles. Users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except username). Site administrators can also see and edit that information.

We delete or anonymize data when retention is no longer necessary.

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, object, restrict processing, or receive a copy of your personal data.

  • EU/UK: rights under GDPR/UK GDPR.
  • Israel: rights under the Privacy Protection Law, 1981 and regulations.

To exercise your rights, contact yaron@webmindit.co.il. We may need to verify your identity. You may also contact your local data protection authority.
